Formal vs informal: Use "usted" (formal you) with strangers, service workers, and older people. "Tú" is for friends and casual situations.
Regional variations: Words vary by country: "carro" (Latin America) vs "coche" (Spain), "boleto" (Latin America) vs "billete" (Spain).
Tipping: Customs vary. In Spain, tipping is less expected. In Mexico, 10-15% is standard at restaurants. Always check if "propina incluida."
Emergency numbers: 112 is the EU emergency number. In Mexico it's 911. Research local numbers before traveling.
